Soccer Season Layout| Gonescrapbooking.com/Examiner.com

If you've dropped by to participate in Pink Ninja Addicts Blog hop, just scroll down to 2 posts.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having 2 hyper little boys, the hubs and I think it's wise to get them interested in sports and other activities. It's the best way, that we can think of, to keep them occupied and out of trouble. Xander is still a little young, but Donovan is at the right age. We started him in karate last summer and soccer in the Spring.

I took these photos of him with his awesome trophy after the end of the year soccer barbecue. He loved playing soccer but says he doesn't want to play again in the Fall. I think his decision has a lot to do with the fact that his team didn't win any games...we'll see what he says when we get closer to the start of the season.

Instead of trying to come up with journaling for this layout, I interviewed Donovan about his experience and used that on the layout. It'll be interesting to look back on his answers years from now. I also recorded his team's record.

journaling: Did you like playing soccer? Yes! What did you like about it? Scoring goals during practice. What was your favorite position to play? Defense Did you dislike anything about playing soccer? Exercising, because I wanted to do practice games. Do you want to play next season? No.

supplies: Patterned paper, stickers- Pink Paislee; brads- Junkitz; epoxy shaper- Making Memories; pens- Marvy, Sharpie; corner rounder- EK Success; trimmer- Purple Cows; Adhesives- Helmar Premium Craft Adhesive, Helmar Zapdots; Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue

New Bella Blvd Projects | CHA-S 2010

I am so sad that I am unable to attend CHA (Craft and Hobby Association). I have gone to the past 2 and am hooked on the idea seeing all of the new product up close and personal, as well as meeting the people behind the brands. It's eye candy overload, I tell you! I'm going on a cruise next month and couldn't fathom leaving my kiddos for so many days back to back, so I made a sacrifice. :) I figure I can always go to the larger show in January right.

Luckily for me, I have once again been given the opportunity to play with brand spanking new Bella Blvd products before they hit the market!!! Yippee! Oh.my.goodness. Stephanie has done it again! With 6 new lines debuting at CHA, there's definitely something for every scrapper, altered artist, and card maker!!

I worked with 4 different lines: Lovey Dovey, Socialite, One Fall Day, and Hello Beautiful!

This layout, Beautiful Sisters, was created with Lovey Dovey and is my favorite project because the photo is of my mom and her sister. I have 7 Aunts, but my mom has been extremely close to this one all of her life.

I wanted this layout to be very feminine. I added ribbon and lace, rhinestones and pearls, butterflies and handmade flowers. I just adore that pink script patterned paper, too!

I sprayed the white cardstock tag with Grapefruit Luminarte Paints Radiant Rain shimmering spritz and then stamped it with my favorite script stamp.

I coated the alphabet stickers with stardust stickles and the popped the "beautiful" sticker up on foam Zapdots.

This large gray butterfly is actually from the Hello Beautiful line, but I loved how well it matched this line, so I added it! :)

This next layout was created with Socialite. This line is so stinking fun! I can't wait to see all of the party/New Year's/GNO projects using these papers, sprouting up all over the 'net.

I *heart* that little black dress and wanted to make it the highlight, so I popped it up on some Zapdots and added a little stickles and bling.

I made this scalloped border by punching out small circles and aligning them along the border. I added a rhinestone to each one...what's a Girl's Night Out project without lots of bling?

I like how the new lines coordinate with the existing alphabet stickers and Blooms A Bella flowers.

This card was made using One Fall Day. In my book, teal+orange+brown=fabulousness!! I love this color combination!! Very fun for Fall!

The next 2 projects were created using Hello Beautiful! This line absolutely screams happiness!

I added tiny buttons coated with turquoise stickles to the tree.

This is my Just Because... mini album. It's full of photos of my 2 favorite scrap subjects and loaded with "words of wisdom" and a personalized note for them.

Every single project on this page was adhered using Helmar Adhesives.

I hope you have enjoyed getting a sneak peek at some of the projects that will be on display in Bella Blvd's booth. Check out their blog periodically to see what the other Artistas have created!

Until next post...happy scrapping!

ninja in the spotlight...that's me!

I had an AMAZING time working with this month's kit. All of the robots inspired me to create this little ditty for my boys. I also took inspiration from my talented friend Jennifer and dug in my chipboard stash to find pieces that I could form into a robot. I covered each piece with patterned paper, glitter, and ink to bring my robot to life.

Here are some close-ups. The arms and legs on this robot are movable.

Thanks so much for joining us along this blog hop!!

Special thanks to Ally and Nely for having me as the ninja in the spotlight!!

Have a fab day!!

CHA Summer 2010 | Petaloo

I think everyone is going to flip for the new products that Petaloo is releasing at CHA this Summer! The products that I had the opportunity to work with are some of my favorites! The colors really put me in the mind set of Christmas Elegance and that's precisely what I attempted to achieve on this layout and card!!

I combined a couple of gorgeous sprays and leaves on this layout of my 2 Christmas cutie pies. The flowers worked wonderfully with this line by Creative Imaginations.

I arranged the velvet glittered leaves around a circle to create a wreath for the front of the elegant Christmas card.

close-up of those gorgeous leaves and the Egyptian gold luminarte by Creative Imaginations that I spritzed on the background.

If you're headed to CHA, be sure to stop by Petaloo's booth for a closer look at all of the fabulous products that are coming to a retailer near you!

Love This Time Of Year

Now that I'm a scrapper, the end of January and July have taken on a whole new meaning for me. CHA is upon us which means new products are releasing...I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!! I'm not going to CHA this time around to see everything firsthand, but I will have quite a few projects making appearances in 3 booths. I can't wait until I can share them all with you!!

Speaking of new products...have you checked out Creative Imaginations Blog lately? Some of the new releases have been posted and more are coming soon! This layout was created using the line designed by Renae Lindgren called Back 2 School.

Donovan just finished up Kindergarten, so I was so thrilled to receive this line. The papers worked wonderfully with my photos.

Here are a couple of close-ups. I love how the stickers look like they've been colored with color pencils. I matted this schoolhouse sticker with white cardstock then cut the door on 3 sides so it opened to reveal a handwritten note to Donovan. I adhered it to the layout with Helmar Zapdots (foam) for a little added dimension.

Love those alphabet stickers!

Here's a little plaque I recently created for Helmar Adhesives. I made it for my scrap room using pieces from Punky Sprouts Punky Love album, and products from a few of Helmar's other preferred partners: Pink Paislee, Maya Road, Clearsnap, and ribbon from Fancy Pants.

I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry to attach elements to the acrylic, Helmar Premium Craft Glue to attach the ribbon and canvas elements, Helmar Zapdots for some added dimension, Helmar Gemstone Glue to adhere the rhinestones, and Helmar Fray Stoppa to put an end to those pesky fraying edges.

I used one of the acrylic pages for the background. First, I cut off the tab and then poked holes around the heart so I could hand stitch around it. I painted around the edge and then started decorating.

I painted behind the border sticker in order for it to stand out against the acrylic background.

For me, no project is complete without a little dimension. That's where Zapdots come in handy! I love that I can pile them up to achieve my desired level of dimension.

Here's a close-up of the edge of the canvas sheet from the Punky Sprouts album. I weaved a strip of Pink Paislee patterned through the pre-punched holes and added Fray Stoppa before adhering to my project.

I used Helmar Gemstone Glue to adhere the rhinestones. I like the fact that this glue does not cloud my rhinestones.

I used the canvas page to create my own embellishments. Here's a close-up of the heart and handmade flower. I inked the flower with with my Clearsnap chalk ink before rolling and attaching it to my project. I stamped and inked the edges of the hand cut heart; before adhering it to my project, I added Helmar Fray Stoppa to the edges to stop any additional fraying. I have to say that I LOVE fray stoppa!!! I use it on the edges of anything that has the potential to fray (i.e ribbon) and it stops it instantly. Side note: a little fray stoppa even stops runs in your pantyhose.

I used a sponge tip applicator (you know the thingy that you use to apply eyeshadow) to ink the artisan frame.

Stop by Helmar's Blog and check out the contest that's going on right now.

Last up is a layout I created about my niece for the Gonescrapbooking.com/Examiner.com DT.

I used Bella Blvd products to highlight photos of my beautiful niece, Jasmine on the way to her first escorted dance.

I hand cut flowers from patterned aper, crumpled them and then adhered to the layout. I attached gems to the centers using Helmar Gemstone Glue.

I layered pink and brown alphabet stickers and then adhered them to the layout using Helmar Zapdots and added a few pearls for a real classy look.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.

Until next post...HAPPY scrapping!!
