MIA

Man have I been swamped this month. CHA is just 2 short weeks away and I am up to my neck in projects. I love this time of year because I get to see a lot of the new stuff before it hits the stores, but man am I feeling the pressure...not to mention the fact that my mojo is trying to abandon me but I'm hanging on for dear life! I'm not attending CHA this time around, but I will have lots of projects in Creative Imaginations, Cheery Lynn Designs, Petaloo, Bella Blvd's booths. I can't wait to share with you what I've created!! Fun stuff!

Additionally, I will be teaching 2 mini albums classes for Croptopia Getaways in Whippany, NJ next month. You can get more detailed info here.

Today, I took a break from creating to try and regroup. I do, however have a few projects to share.

I recently ordered Echo Park's new Be Mine collection and all I can say is WOW!!! It's truly gorgeous! I created the following 2 cards with the collection.

Always In My Heart was created for gonescrapbooking/examiner.com

Be-Leave In Love (I know it's a little cheesy) was created for Cheery Lynn Designs using the new dimensional leaves. Click here to see what the rest of the design team created with the new dies.

Finally, I created this frame a while ago for Petaloo. I turned a $1 wooden frame into a beautiful gift for a friend, using Mulberry flowers, glittered dazzlers, bees, and glitter paper for the background.

Ok, well it's time for me to climb in the bed. I'm beat!! See ya next post. For all of my scrappy peeps in the NJ area who are attending the Croptopia Getaways crop...hope to see you there!!!

Awesome Teaching Opportunity

I cannot even begin to tell you how purely thrilled I am to announce that I'm going to be teaching scrapbooking classes aboard a cruise next year!!! My stomach is doing flip flops of happiness...I could just burst!!!

Want to know what will make me even happier? Getting the opportunity to see some of my online scrappy buddies on that cruise!! We would have such a crazy fun time and Croptopia Getaways knows how to throw an awesome crop!!! I just returned from their cruise a few days ago and let me tell you...spoiled is not the word! All of the cruise details are in this post! If you decide to join us, just let them know I referred you, OK!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Format of Event – based on your feedback, we are thrilled to announce that this cruise will again be a project based cruise! We’ll have a full schedule of classes, mini workshops and make & takes so there won’t be a need for you to lug all your scrapbooking supplies UNLESS you would like to use the open studio time each evening to crop. The schedule will be very similar to this year’s with the exception of one mini project each evening after dinner and then we are going to invite you to enjoy the shipboard activities with us (or of course you can take advantage of open studio time if you wish!) Sharon and Lisa from Right At Home will have a “Supply Bag” that you will be able to pre-order and in it will be all the products you will need for the week so you COULD come aboard with just your clothes if you wish. Details on this will be forthcoming.

We hope to see you all next year and don’t forget about our land event at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, New Jersey March 26-28….

I Have Returned...

It's been a little over a week since I last blogged, but for good reason...I just returned from the Croptopia Getaways Bermuda cruise that I won from Scrapbooking and Beyond Magazine. I took my mom along with me (her first vacation ever) and we had a ball scrapping and touring Bermuda. Croptopia Getaways spoiled us so much that my mom has decided to become a scrapper with all of the goodies and lessons she's acquired!

I took a couple of awesome classes and learned a lot in the mini album classes taught by Cheryl Mezzetti (always wanted to take one of her classes) and learned some Cricut tips and created a couple of awesome projects taught by Cara Miller (aka the Cricut Queen). There were quite a few make n takes, too! I can't wait to share the pictures here!

If you know me, then you know I took a few hundred photos and will definitely share by way of photos posts and layouts! Bermuda is such a beautiful island and so was the ship we sailed on, Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas.

I'll definitely tell you all about my trip over the course of the next week or so, but right now I'd like to share the layout I created for Dreamgirls latest challenge and Shimmerz!

Prompt: Using the negative paper left over from a punch - get creative and incorporate it into your layout - You can stencil through it, mask it, or make an embellishment out of it .
Technique: Stitching, faux or real
Product: Use a scallop circle journal spot.

Click here to see what the rest of the Dreamgirls created!

I took this photo on Mommy and Donnie day; not an official holiday, but a fun day for my li'l man and me! How gorgeous are these Webster's Pages papers? OMG...love them!

close-up of the top right corner and the scallop that I hand stitched around the corner of the photo

I used the negative space from a die cut heart to add a little interest to my journaling spot

I loaded up on the shimmering spritz; I sprayed the flowers and the bird that I cut from patterned paper. I also dipped a paint brush into my spritz and used it to paint the cherries.

Thanks for taking a peek!
