Favorite Layouts of 2010

It's officially 1/1/11 which makes this my 1st post of the new year!!! Hope you had a safe celebration! I stayed home with my boys, ordered some soul food and just chilled out...nice and simple. I'm looking forward to 2011. I chose WORK as my word for the year and I plan to do just that; continue to work on raising happy children, work on finding work, work on keeping myself healthy, work on getting my house in order, work on bringing you more scrapbooking videos, etc...

Over the next few days, I'm going to share some of my favorite projects from last year. I have such a hard time choosing my favorite layouts because I do so many (115 in 2010) and each has a special place in my heart. Having said that, here are 10 that I think represent my style pretty well.

"Ah Wah Woo" (translates to "I love you" the way Xander used to say it)

"I'm Growing" - I think it's essential to do layouts about me

"Favorite Foods" - About Xander's favorite foods

"Love Overflowing" - The title and photo says it all, no need for journaling. I love them..'nuff said!

"Life @ 35" - This will be fun to look back on later on.

"My Niece Jazz" - with 2 boys, I'll sneak a girlie page in there any way I can

"Star Pupil" - Donovan's kindergarten year

"Beautiful Sisters" - My mom and her sister

"Many Things To Smile About" - Just to remind myself of my blessings

"Cold Snowy Days" - Donovan's favorite time of year and also one of my favorite color combos

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all of your continued support. I hope 2011 holds many blessings for you and yours!

XOXO

More Holiday Projeccts

You know, last week I said to myself, "I'm not going to create a holiday project for my next Cheery Lynn Designs post". Then I opened my drawer with the ton-o-unfinished alterable projects in it and found this 3 piece frame set that I purchased from Target for $2.50, earlier this year. As soon as I saw it, visions of plum danced in my head and I found myself doing exactly what I had planned NOT to do. LOL! But you know, sometimes you just have to go with the flow!

I used the 2nd smallest french flair die to cut paper and crafter's foam. I adhered the 2 together to add some dimension to the die cut. I ran the chipboard through my Epic Six with the dotted swiss embossing plate to add texture and interest to my letters before inking them and adhering to the frame. I decorate each letter with a die cut snowflake and pearl.

Here are a few close-up of those gorgeous flowers from Petaloo.

For this card, I cut circles using the smallest die in the XL nested circles set, cut them in half and aligned them so as to create a scalloped border. I die cut snowflakes and used them to add texture to the snowflakes in the patterned paper.

There are 5 more day left until Christmas!! I'm finally going decorate today...hope you haven't procrastinated until the last minute like I have!

Have a wonderful week!

Happy Monday

In less than 2 weeks, I will be sitting back, chilling with my family, and stuffing my face with some gooooooood homemade food. I can not wait for Thanksgiving!! My sister and I have taken over the cooking in our family, so we're in the process of getting the menu together--well in reality, we usually cook the same traditional feast, but we have to divvy up the tasks.

I have to make sure to remember to get photos this year. I'm always so caught up in the hooplah, that I forget to take the camera out.

I have a few projects to share with you today. The first 2 were created for Petaloo. Remember these photos that I took at the butterfly farm in St. Martin? Well, I've finally gotten around to scrapping them. I combined papers from Pink Paislee and Webster's Pages to create a neutral background that allows the photos to pop. Then I added a few dazzlers for a touch of color.

I used Jenni Bowlin papers and brown berry picks from the Canterbury Collection on this card.

This last project was created for gonescrapbooking/examiner.com. I used Echo Park's adorable Halloween line along with that super cute spider sticker from Reminisce to create this card. Is this cute or what?

I'm also thrilled to announce that I made the Design Team for Cheery Lynn Designs!!! So stay tuned for lots of inspiring projects using their dies!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!! Have a wonderful day!

Procrastinator...

I should be packing right now, but as always, I'm procrastinating and putting it off until the last minute. I leave Sunday and still have lots to do! Well, at least I was able to use the time that I spent "not packing" to clean the kitchen and living room, do 2 loads of laundry, stop at the mall to buy some super cute shoes and make dinner.

I cannot wait to hop on that plane. I am going to miss my boys like CRAZY, but this will be my opportunity to unwind before the craziness of the school year is upon us.

I've been trying to make sure that the boys and I get in a lot of quality time together this summer. This past Tuesday, Donovan and I went to Dorney Park with his summer camp. We had so much fun in the water park, which is where we spent most of our time. My little wave jumper loves water! Can you tell?

I haven't created much over the past week or so...low mojo. When my creative juices aren't flowing, I turn to a sketch to get 'em going. I used one from Sketchy Thursdays and Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers to create this layout of my boys. I just love this line...the colors are great together!! Although it's a pet line, I knew I could use it for boy projects.

supplies: patterned paper- Basic Grey, cardstock- Bazzill; alpha- American Crafts; label- Dymo; gems- Kaiser Crafts, adhesive- Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive Runner, Helmar Zapdots

Here's a Get Well card I created a little while ago using Webster's Pages papers.

supplies: Patterned Paper Webster's Pages, cardstock- American Crafts; border punch- EK Success; scissors- provocraft; ribbon- Pink Paislee; pins- Maya Road; ink- Clearsnap; adhesive- Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Helmar Zapdots

Another quick card I created for my DT position at gonescrapbooking/examiner.com.

supplies: Patterned Paper- Bo Bunny; cardstock- American Crafts; ribbon- Offray; punches- Martha Stewart; ink- Clearsnap; pearls- Want 2 Scrap; button- Foofala

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

The next time you hear from me, I'll be posting pictures from the cruise! Puerto Rico, here I come...granted I finish packing in time!! LOL!
