Quick Quotes NSD Blog Hop

We're excited to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day with our Quick Quotes friends and fans! What better way than to have a fun blog hop!!!  If you've hopped here from Barb's fabulous blog then you are well on your way and will continue to be treated to some wonderful eye candy from the DT members for our current blog challenge, fussy cutting.

If you just happened to pop in on my blog, please join us...I guarantee you'll have a great time and gain a ton of inspiration.  Be sure to leave comments on each blog and make it all the way to the end of the hop for a chance to win some great RAKs from Quick Quotes!!!

Please visit the blog for full details how to play along with our challenge.

For the fussy cutting challenge, I decided to go off the page and create this little birdhouse.  If you've visited my blog before, you know I have a thing for birdhouses.  I kept this one sweet and simple with a burst of color using papers from Summer Samba.   I inked the roof of the house with Blue Hawaiian PowderPuff Chalking Ink and then cut flowers from Summer Samba 400 and layered them over the entire roof.  I covered the base of the birdhouse with Summer Samba 100 and added 2 Bag O' Chips butterflies which were heat embossed with WOW embossing glitter.

Here are a few detail shots

Now you are on your way to the talented Rhonda's blog.  Here is the hop sequence just in case you get lost along the way!

Now what's a Blog Hop without a fun prize?!!! Since we are celebrating National Scrapbooking Day (annnd 6,000 fans over on Facebook!) we are all set to give away a grab bag full of crafty Quick Quotes goodness! For sure it will contain some PowderPuff Chalk Inks as they are our featured product for May!

Purple Cows Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to Purple Cow's blog hop!!   If you've hopped here from  Elisa's fabulous blog, then you are well on your way and will continue to be treated to some wonderful eye candy from our terrific DT members!!

If you just happened to pop in on my blog, please join us...I guarantee you'll have a great time and gain a ton of inspiration. Just go back Purple Cows' blog and start from there. Be sure to leave comments on each blog and make it all the way to the end of the hop for a chance to win some great RAKs from Purple Cows!!! How fab is that?

Purple Cows has some terrific new tools in the CraftGeek line and tomorrow April 24th HSN will have the Pin It, Wind It and Punch It featured during the following show times  12am, 8am, 1pm, 2pm and 9pm EST. We hope that you will turn to HSN or go to their site and pick up your favorites as HSN will have them for an unbeatable deal.

I used the CraftGeek Pin It on my card.  I created a border along the bottom of my card.  Before I attached the pins, I heat embossed them to change up the color.  As you can see in my photos below, it's a very simple process.  Heat embossing allows you to change the pins into any color of your choice.

I started by inking the pin to give the powder something to stick to.

I heated until the powder melted to a shiny gloss.

Here are the before (silver) and after (black)

Then I used the pin it to attach my pins.  The magnetic plate helps keep the tool properly positioned while the see through plate allows you to see exactly where you want to apply your pin.  Love that!!

Here's a close-up of the pins.

To get in on the fun and be entered into the drawing for some amazing Purple Cows tools. Be sure to leave a comment on all the designer blogs as well as the Purple Cows blog. Follow us or become a Fan on Facebook if you aren't already and share the hop info with your friends by sending them our way or sharing the Purple Cows Hop on your facebook page.

We will be giving out the following 7 prizes:

1. Punch It Autumn
2. Punch It Solstice
3. Punch It Summer
4. Punch It Spring
5. Punch it Winter
6. Wind It and wire
7. Pin It and assorted pins
Now hop your way over to Dawn's awesome blog!!

Here's the blog hop order just in case you need it:

Helmar Halloween Howler Blog Hop

Welcome to Helmar's Halloween Howler Blog Hop!!! If you've just hopped in from the very talented Gayle's blog, then you've made it halfway through and are well on your way! If you just happened upon my blog and want to join in on the fun, we're more than happy to have you along. Just go back and start at Helmar's blog and make your way to the end. There are tons of prizes at stake, so be sure you leave comments on all of the blogs along the way.

I am featuring Helmar Foam Zapdots and Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue on my projects. I love the levels of dimension that the zapdots allow me to achieve. The acid free glue is specially made for book binding and doesn't leave my projects feeling stiff.

I traced one of the the ghost pages from a Nikki Sivils chipboard album to create this Happy Howl-O-Ween card. I inked strips of white cardstock and used Professional Acid Free glue to randomly place them across the card. I used foam Zapdots on a few of the strips to add dimension.

supplies: cardstock- American Crafts; ink- Clearsnap; rub-on- Melissa Frances; googlie eyes- Nicole Craft; Adhesive- Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue, Helmar Zapdots

For this Frankenstein card, I used foam Zapdots to pop up the eyelids and nose for dimension. To create the hair, I used Martha Stewart's icicle punch and black cardstock.

Inside of the card reads: "Wishing You A Monster-rific Halloween".

supplies: Cardstock- Worldwin, Bazzill, American Crafts; stickles- Ranger; border punch- Martha Stewart, ink- clearsnap; silver paper- Creative Imaginations; Adhesive- Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue, Helmar Zapdots

This last project was created for one of Helmar's Preferred Partners, Purple Cows. I used the 2-in-1 trimmer along with Partner Products from Cosmo Cricket, Clear Scraps, Clearsnap, magic mesh to scrap these photos of my son from last Halloween.

I used more foam zapdots to give the bat a little lift.

I even added in a little 450 Quick Dry--it's perfect for adhering acrylic elements.

supplies: patterned paper, stickers- Cosmo Cricket; acrylic frame- Clear Scraps; ink- Clearsnap; mesh- Magic Mesh; pen- Marvy; trimmer- Purple Cows; Adhesive- Helmar Zapdots, Helmar 450 Quick Dry, Helmar Professional Acid Free Glue

Thank you so much for joining the blog hop!! I hope all of the projects featured will inspire your creativity! Just click on the arrow below to be taken to Amy's fabulous blog!

ninja in the spotlight...that's me!

I had an AMAZING time working with this month's kit. All of the robots inspired me to create this little ditty for my boys. I also took inspiration from my talented friend Jennifer and dug in my chipboard stash to find pieces that I could form into a robot. I covered each piece with patterned paper, glitter, and ink to bring my robot to life.

Here are some close-ups. The arms and legs on this robot are movable.

Thanks so much for joining us along this blog hop!!

Special thanks to Ally and Nely for having me as the ninja in the spotlight!!

Have a fab day!!

And The Winner Is...

First, I just want to say thanks to everyone who participated in our Farewell Blog Hop. As I stated in yesterday's post, it was a sad decision for me not to reapply for the design team, but I know the new team is gonna rock it out!!

Secondly, here is my final My Little Shoebox project...as a DT member. I actually taught this mini album at the Collin's Show earlier this Spring. I used Flying High along with some of my favorite family photos to create this album, one of my faves to date!

I had some awesome companies (posted here) donate product for this class!!

I used 2 die cut photo corners and a piece of ribbon to fashion a butterfly

I adhered a piece of lined paper to the die cut, punched holes in it and then added journaling to the back--the tag is actually it's own page.

I matted a heart and then added wings (2 more photo corners) to help bring the sentiment to life.

See the white butterfly on the right page? I punched it out of the transparency overlay with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch.

I created a pocket for journaling tags using 1/4 of the scalloped circle paper

The END...

Oh yeah, you want to know which lucky blog poster won my RAK, right!?! LOL!

Well that person is.....

St. Patrick's Day Blog Hop

Hey there!! Welcome to Purple Cow's St. Paddy's Day Blog Hop! If you've hopped here from Samantha's fabulous blog, then you are well on your way to the pot o' gold (AKA Purple Cows RAK) at the end of the rainbow!! If you just happened to pop in on my blog, please join us...I guarantee you'll have a great time and gain a ton o' inspiration. Just go back Purple Cows' blog and start from there. Be sure to leave comments on each blog and make it all the way to the end of the hop for a chance to win small RAKs from some DT members and an awesome prize from Purple Cows!!! How fab is that?

I've always loved St. Patrick's Day--I don't know if it's because green is at the top of my favorite colors list or perhaps because my maiden name is Leary (thanks to some Irish ancestors Waaaaaaay down the line), so I had a blast coming up with this party idea. I created a St. Patrick's Day party invitation and an adorable leprechaun hat place setting using Purple Cows Smart Trimmer (1060) along with designer click blade 2811 and My Mind's Eye papers. I used this site to help me create the hat--I just came up with my own measurements.

I spritzed the buckle and the top portion of the card with gold glow smooch spritz and added a few clover stickers to complete the look!

supplies: Trimmer, click blade- Purple Cows; patterned paper- My Mind's Eye, cardstock- Bazzill; ribbon; Color spray- Clear Snap; stickers- Reminisce; rub-ons- one heart...one mind, Melissa Frances; border punch- Martha Stewart; corner rounder- EK Success

I hope you've enjoyed this project!

Anyone who leaves a comment on this post between now and Wednesday 3/17/10 at 11:59 EST, will be eligible to win a small RAK from me!

Now it's time to hop on over to Vicki's awesome blog! Have fun and luck o' the Irish to ya!!
