I Heart Faces: Self Portrait

It's Self Portrait week over at I Heart Faces!! Is it strange to say that I take a lot of self portraits? Well I AM a scrapbook artist...one who believes that it's equally important to record myself in my scrapbooks as it is everything else. Whenever I ask someone to take my picture for me, it rarely comes out nice, so I listened to the old adage, If you want something done right (or at least the way I want it done)...

I had a couple of pictures in the running for this post, but decided to go with this one because it tells a lot about me. My hair is braided and I have on short sleeves, which means that the weather is nice. I'm also wearing my signature style hoop earrings and one of my favorite necklaces. Although I can't see the necklace in it's entirety, the chain reminds me of what it looks like. The minimal make-up reminds me that I am a mom who no longer has the time (or energy) to get all "fancified".

Anyone else looking at this photo could probably guess that I had the chicken pox in my lifetime, thanks to the pock mark left between my eye brows and that I'm married. I guess it's right what they say...a picture is worth a thousand words.

I like the way half of my face is lit while the other half is in the shadow. Kind of adds a little mystery to me. Of course anyone who know me knows that I'm a what you see is what you get kind of gal. LOL!

So this is my entry for this week. Enjoy!

Tanisha I know what you mean! No one ever takes a picture of me since I am the family picture taker. And if they do it is always the must unflattering shot possible. I love your portrait!

I live in New Jersey with my husband and our 2 sons. I work full time as a Medical Technologist and volunteer for the Community Emergency Response Team in my town. I've been scrapping for the past 8 years and I truly love it because it allows me to combine my love of photography and my love of paper into one art form. I love teaching scrapbook classes and providing freelance work. Please contact me via email if you are interested in commissioning my services: tanisharenee74@hotmail.com
