WOW!!!

I never thought I'd see the day...not in my lifetime or even in my childrens'...as I type this, I am holding back tears for such a momentous occasion. Barack Obama has been elected 44th president of the United States of America!!! WOW!!! We have come a long way baby!

I didn't think America was ready...so glad I was wrong!

YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!!

A few years from now, when my African American sons ask me if they can be President I can honestly look them in the eyes and say yes baby, you can...and truly mean it!!! The precedent has been set!

As a matter of fact, I'm about to go and wake Donovan up so he can see with his own eyes. He won't understand right now, but years from now he will remember me waking him up on this night.

YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!! YES WE CAN!!!

I, too, have tears of joy. I think it's great that you are waking Donovan to let him experience this moment. Our babies are lucky children to be living in these times, huh?? :)

Its the most AWESOME thing in recent times - I woke up feeling so much better about the world today, much more hopeful for the future of my kids.

I'm so proud that America picked the right person based on his ability to lead and not the color of his skin. We have definitely turned a corner that was long overdue!

I woke Ava up too. How could I not have. Our babies will never know a time when this was possible.

It was a historic night that I am so grateful I got to witness. Thank God for all the Americans who took the time to get out and vote today! I watched history happen, and I couldn't be prouder of the American people.

I'm still floating on a cloud. Obama is that MAN, not just a black man but THAT MAN! It's funny how closed minded some people are to think that this is the only time black people came out to vote, it's not about color and it wasn't just black people that voted for him. Man oh man I can't even finish, I'm getting sooooo overly emotional brb.....
